About

Based in Portland, Oregon, USA, Matthew (Matt) Weaver is an avid hiker, mountaineer and sports fanatic, as well as an amateur photographer and occasional TV personality. OK, that’s enough third person tense for one day…

Living in the Pacific Northwest provides a stunning natural backdrop of green trees, indigo blue skies (when it isn’t raining), rainbows (when it is raining), waterfalls, beaches, rivers and mountains…specifically, volcanoes. The Cascade Range may not contain the tallest mountains in the world, or even the United States, but the snow-capped peaks have a tremendous prominence and seem to tower over the near-sea-level surroundings. Locals speak of days when the mountains are “popped out” with their white peaks, offset by deep blue skies, sticking out over the foothills. I prefer to take myself to the mountains – usually with camera in tow – and I never tire of searching for the perfect angle, light or scene.

Though many of the photos on this website are from the Pacific Northwest, you will find many others from my travels across the never-ending source of wonder called North America. I hope to add other portions of the world soon. Stay as long as you like and enjoy.

The photos contained here are my property, so please do not use them elsewhere without express written consent of me (and you thought I was going to say Major League Baseball, huh?). Just kidding. You don’t need to write me. However, please credit “matthewweaver.com” if you do use a photo.
