The 37-foot Green Monster dominates left field in Fenway Park. The wall
has a manually operated scoreboard and many nooks and crannies that cause left
fielders nightmares with funky bounces off line drives. The wall allows
high fly balls to become home runs and sure doubles to become singles or outs
at second. The wall has had many famous moments, but Carlton Fisk's
dinger just inside the foul pole in the 1975 World Series was probably the most
famous. Before the 2003 season, several rows of seats were added to the
top of the wall.
