The NW Ridge route on Broken Top can be done several ways, but we took the most common route.  From camp at Green Lakes, we followed a snow field to a steeper snow and scree slope and up to a saddle at 7,870 feet between a larger ridge and the NW ridge itself.  From the saddle, we followed the rocky trail up the ridge, through a 15-foot crux at 9,000 feet, over a small rock pitch to near the Summit.  Just below the Summit pinnacle, we followed a narrow ramp to the South for about 60 feet and then scrambled up some 4th and 5th class rock to the small Summit block.
