This aerial photo of Mount Washington, taken on June 9, 2003, shows the prominent North Ridge (shown in green).  This is the most popular route to the 7,794-foot summit and takes climbers from the Big Lake area up a wooded trail to the scree covered ridge and finally to the Summit Pinnacle.  From that point, the climb is several hundred feet of Class 5 rock climbing and scrambling.  Mount Washington is not a day hike!
