COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
July 15, 2000 and September 29, 2000

The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area begins just 30 minutes East of Portland and is packed with natural sights and activities.  The Gorge is home to beautiful waterfalls, like 620-foot tall Multnomah Falls, world class wind surfing, technical rock climbing and enjoyable hiking trails.  The Columbia River National Scenic Highway runs through the western portion of the Gorge, providing vistas and viewpoints from Troutdale, Oregon to Cascade Locks, Oregon.  The Gorge was created by large prehistoric floods, which cut through volcanic basalt left behind by the volcanic eruptions of Mount Hood and Mount Adams.  Click on the thumbnails below to view my photos.
