Muir Woods is a small national preserve of California Redwood trees near the Pacific Coast about 11 miles north of San Francisco.  It is a cool, wet oasis in the middle of Mount Tamalpais State Park housing some of the oldest and tallest trees in the world.  The trees dwarf the visitors and it is hard to describe the experience - even with photos.  Regardless, check out my photos of the preserve and the nearby beach by clicking on the thumbnail links below.
