During two successive fall seasons, I traveled to West Lafayette with my friend Gary to see his alma mater, Purdue University, play Big Ten football.  In October 1998, we saw Purdue beat Illinois in a shootout and in October 1999, we saw Penn State hold off a late Purdue surge to win.  The Penn State game was the national coming-out party for Nittany Lion linebacker (and eventual #2 NFL draft pick) Lavar Arrington.  Check out the pictures by clicking on the thumbnails below.
